Historiographically, it's not widely believed that the heartless ritual was known to, much of anyone at the time. The odd, sort-of parallel between Jesus's death and resurrection and the intermediate period of a heartless ritual have been argued about by theologians since they first learned of the ritual, though. Things like 'is it possible that Longinus stabbing Jesus through the chest only for water to come out a metaphor for Jesus becoming a Pearl Heartless' have been bandied about, but the consensus among most christian sects in the present day of the setting is that Jesus was definitely not a Heartless.
As worldbuilder, I think I'm going to go with that Jesus, in so far as he existed (which is definitely not exactly how he's described in the bible), was a Martyr who survived his execution thanks to his Word, went into seclusion for a while, came back, acted strangely, then died for real.
